The new machinery is part of the group&#8217;s investment plan for the Biscayan terminal and will bring both environmental and operational improvements.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The acquisition of the new machinery, valued at \u20ac12.6 million, is one of the actions included in the five-year investment plan for 2023-2027, valued at over \u20ac45 million. The objective of this action is to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by renewing 30% of the yard operations machinery, which will result in a 40% reduction in fossil fuel consumption. Furthermore, in terms of productivity, receiving and delivery operations will be improved in both the rail and land transport areas.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The cranes have been unloaded from the vessel Schillplate, which arrived from Gdansk, Poland, and assembly will begin immediately with the aim of having them operational by October. These are the most modern cranes on the market and will significantly improve upon the equipment they replace in terms of productivity, fuel consumption, environmental protection, and safety. They are the first RTG cranes of this type to operate in Europe.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The six new RTGs are wheeled overhead cranes with 135-ton structures. Their main features include: a lifting capacity of 41 tons, 51 tons under exceptional load conditions, a lifting height of up to 18.1 meters (5+1 containers), a clearance between legs for six containers, and truck access. They are equipped with integrated Siemens controls by Konecranes.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This is an environmentally friendly machine, featuring advanced lithium-ion battery technology and an energy management system that monitors the charge level and overall battery condition. It is powered by an eco-efficient diesel engine that charges the batteries as needed. This system reduces diesel consumption by half compared to conventional RTGs. <\/p>\n\n<p>This Investment Plan demonstrates the firm commitment of CSP Bilbao&#8217;s shareholders to the Port as a strategic hub in the Atlantic Arc, comprised of 29 European regions within the countries that make up the European Union&#8217;s Atlantic coast, including Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. It has a 2,500 km coastline and its territories cover an area of \u200b\u200b625,541 km\u00b2, representing 28% of the EU&#8217;s total area. <\/p>\n\n<p>CSP Spain, present in Spain since 1973, belongs to the CSPL Group, the world&#8217;s largest port operator.
