The day included a visit to the facilities of CSP Iberian Zaragoza Rail Terminal, whose objective is none other than to become the nerve center of the company’s logistics and intermodal activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Asian operator’s investment in the terminal already amounts to 900,000 euros and employs 11 people<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The President of Aragon, Javier Lamb\u00e1n, and the Chinese Ambassador to Spain, Lyu Fan, held a productive working meeting this morning at the Aragon government headquarters. The meeting focused on China’s development plans in Aragon. The meeting also served to reaffirm the positive relationship between the two institutions. <\/p>\n\n

Mr. Lyu Fan wanted Mr. Sun Kai, CEO of COSCO Shipping Ports (Spain), a company belonging to the COSCO Shipping Ports LTD group, the world’s largest port operator that moved more than 117 million TEUs in 2018 and a benchmark in the “One Belt, One Road” project, which aims to revive the Silk Road, intensifying trade relations in Asia and Europe, to be present at the meeting. <\/p>\n\n

During the meeting with the president, both identified the Aragon region as a key element in the new Silk Road, thanks to its geostrategic location on the peninsula, and requested the government’s continued support for this project by strengthening the infrastructure and logistical solutions that will increase commercial activity.<\/p>\n\n

The day continued with a visit to one of the Asian giant’s most important investments in Spain, the intermodal terminal located in Plaza; \u201cCSP Iberian Zaragoza Rail Terminal\u201d where both the ambassador and the president were able to see the efficient facilities and the investment possibilities that could turn this terminal into the nerve center of the company’s logistics activities.<\/p>\n\n

To help achieve part of this goal, COSCO Shipping Ports has already invested 900,000 euros in improving these facilities and currently employs 11 people on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n\n

Both the visit to the CSP Spain facilities and the subsequent lunch at the Government of Aragon were attended by the President of the Port Authority of Bilbao, Ricardo Barkala, the General Director of the Port Authority of Valencia, Francesc S\u00e1nchez, the COO and CCO of CSP Spain, El\u00edas Garc\u00eda & Juan Ort\u00ed, the Director of Intermodal Terminals of the Group, Felipe Menda\u00f1a and members of the board of CSP Zaragoza, Pedro Catal\u00e1, Luis Gabiola, Ramon G\u00f3mez-Ferrer and Adolfo Romero.<\/p>\n\n
