CSP Spain published its investment plan for the three-year period 2020-2022 last year, detailing various investments in machinery. This investment, which will reach €62 million in the Port of Valencia, is being highlighted again today following the arrival of 15 new tractor units at the Valencian dock.
This purchase represents a 14% increase in the number of terminal tractors in the fleet, bringing the total to 120 units. The arrival of the 15 new units will improve the terminal’s operational capacity. Delivery and commissioning will be phased in and is expected to be completed by the end of this month. The main objective is to improve terminal operations and working conditions.
The new Terberg YT222 models maintain the latest standards in ergonomics, comfort, and, most importantly, safety and environmental impact. This model was designed through a collaborative effort between Alfaland and Terberg, who have firsthand knowledge of the company’s and users’ needs and apply that knowledge to the development of their equipment.
Among the improvements to working conditions are: enhanced LED lighting, an ergonomic seat with a 3-point seatbelt, ergonomically designed controls, a roll bar, an optimized exhaust position, additional rearview mirrors for improved visibility, and a door open sensor that also indicates seatbelt use. The tractor units are equipped with Cummins engines that use urea to treat exhaust gases and comply with current emissions and noise regulations.
Despite the global context, the company is showing good results in its activity and continues to carry out its investment plan, which aims to be a stimulus for the sector and a key axis to boost the port of Valencia at all geographical levels.
