At CSP Spain, we continue to strengthen our commitment to sustainability and to promoting rail transport as an environmentally friendly and efficient alternative to road transport. We are pleased to announce that CSP Logitren has been awarded €1.07 million in the second round of rail eco-incentives granted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
This tender, which was provisionally awarded in October 2024, was finally awarded in December 2024 with a total of €21.84 million distributed among seven railway companies. CSP Logitren stood out among the main beneficiaries, reaffirming its strategic role in rail freight transport in Spain.
Eco-incentives are part of the Sustainable and Digital Transport Support Program, funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds, and their main objective is to promote the use of rail over road transport. These initiatives not only aim to reduce the external environmental and socioeconomic costs associated with transport, but also reward companies that achieve a significant increase in their rail activity.
The eco-incentive program will continue with a third call for proposals, which will have an initial budget of €23.5 million to subsidize rail freight traffic for the year 2024. CSP Spain, through CSP Logitren, remains committed to leadership in the sustainability of freight transport, betting on rail as a solution that minimizes environmental impact and optimizes operational efficiency.
This new recognition strengthens our position as key players in sustainable logistics and reinforces our mission to promote a transport model that contributes to a greener future.
